When I watched ONG BAK for the first time I was blown away. The martial skill and the stunts Tony Jaa did were breathtaking. It was one of the best martial arts movies I have ever seen.
Then when they made CHOCOLATE they too the martial arts to a more intense level and introduced JeeJa Yanin (Yanin Vismitananda) to the martial arts movie world, and she came in kicking ass. She was a Taekwondo champion but then trained in Muay Buran for this movie and was found to be a natural.
Now she is back for her second film, and again she is not the slightest interested in taking prisoners but in this one she is even pissed off which makes her even more dangerous.
RAGING PHOENIX can be described as Break Dancing, Drunken Muay Buran. An effective as well as very showy way of fighting. Perfect for a martial arts movie.
There are some great fight scenes to watch even though the choreography is not as tight as other martial arts movies. The days of hitting a woman are far behind us for sure and thankfully the women in this movie hit back and hard.
Would love to see a movie with Jeeja Yanin fighting Tony Jaa but would have a hard time deciding which one I would be rooting for.
