Did not really want to see this simply because Owen Wilson is the voice of Marmaduke and he annoys me to no end.
However, I love the comic Marmaduke and my DVD rental store (724 movies and more at Church and Wellesley, one of the best for Rentals in Toronto) has a rent 2 get 1 free special. You can guess which one I got for free.
I was right, Wilson's voice was annoying but also a disappointment that they changed the character of Marmaduke. It was just not him. It was almost like the director never even read the comics.
If they are going to continue to make movies out of beloved comics and cartoons and such at least keep the spirit and the character that made it famous and lovable in the first place.
As you may have seen from the previews they don't with the upcoming Smurfs movie either.
