Sept 26th LUNG BOONMEE RALUEK CHAT (UNCLE BOONMEE WHO CAN RECALL HIS PAST LIVES)

The 2010 Palme d'Or winner at the Cannes film festival, from director Apichatpong Weerasethakul (THE ADVENTURES OF IRON PUSSY, TROPICAL MALADY) that tells the story of a Thai farmer suffering from a kidney disease.
A ghost story that explores reincarnation as well death.
The problem is the story is boring and way too drawn out. Some of it doesn't even make sense.
This is one time I am not bothered by not seeing a movie in TIFF.
Question is why did I go see it now. Of course the answer is to see the new theatre at the TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX. (yeah its a dumb name but they gave lots of money so got to pick it) A great space and a good addition to the wonderful movie world of Toronto.
