Sept 4th APOLLO 18 (CARLTON THEATRES)

APOLLO 18 is a Horror, docu-fiction about the ultra top secret and last manned US mission to the moon. The movie is interesting in a what if it really happened kind of way, but it is not very suspenseful or scary. There is no real sense of danger to the astronauts or to the planet. Thankfully it is also a short movie. The most interesting thing about the movie are the creatures, which I would love to see more and learn more about. The biggest problem is the maker's use of blank screens and flashing lights to try to create suspense. People when are you going to learn, this is cinema NOT radio. Forget the blank screens and fast moving action, audiences want to see what is going on. We want to see what the scary creatures look like. The old adage that what you do not see is scarier then what you do see is total BS. What we do not want to see is a blank movie screen, especially with today's ticket prices.
