The one and only "Hollywood" movie I am seeing at TIFF this year, ANONYMOUS is the story about the man behind the plays of William Shakespear. The screening took place in the Winter Garden Theatre, which is one half of one of the few remaining double decker theatres, in the world. The fully restored theatre is quite grand with simulated leaves on the ceiling and stately balconies. Although the seats are not made to keep you comfortable enough for more then two hours, if that long.
The movie was wonderful. A historic piece filled with court intrigue, sword fighting, and of course plays. The acting is wonderful. The sets are accurate and beautiful. The story is engaging, funny and very entertaining. Since I have to pay a lot more then a regular night at the movies, I am very happy that I enjoyed this screening a lot.
