July 6 FIRST GRADER

FIRST GRADER is the story of an 84 year old Kenyan man who wants to take advantage of the countries free education for all, so he can learn to read. It is a very touching movie that pulls no punches in the story it tells. I would have liked to seen more about the children and of what living in Kenya is like then and now but otherwise the movie was very enjoyable. Not as inspirational as I expected but very enjoyable.
I was originally going to see a different movie but because of mix up on schedule I choose to see this one, which played at the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (TIFF).
