May 5th WE WERE HERE ( HOT DOCS)

HOT DOCS is the world's largest documentary film festival held every year here in Toronto. There are around 55 film festivals every year in Toronto. If you love true stories and documentary movies this is the film festival to go to.
WE WERE HERE is a doc about 5 people who lived through the beginning of the horrible AIDS epidemic in San Francisco during the late seventies and early eighties. This film is powerful and very emotional and not only talks about the people and the events that happened but also talks of the enduring spirit of humans and the bonding that forms in times of tragedy. Even if your not interested in the AIDS epidemic or any epidemic the movie is still interesting because of the history and the amazing people involved. This is a film about what has happened in the past but also speaks of us as a people and is relevant to today and tomorrow as well. How we live defines us as a person. How we react to a major crisis defines who we are as a people. In case you are wondering that is a personal quote.
