ZHAN GUO: "THE WARRING STATES" is bulled as an epic Chinese period piece. Well it is a period piece but its not very epic, except for the phenomenal number of extras an Chinese movie can have for such low cost. The movie is more a comedy, with aspects of a war movie and a love story.
People expecting CHI BI: "RED CLIFF" , (short or long version) will be disappointed, this is not the same sort of movie. It is entertaining in the right frame of mind though. Still even though I did enjoy this movie it makes em wonder how it got distribution in Canada when other really good movies from Asia do not.
