Okay so there have been 16 movie versions of this story dating back to 1915 and 9 television shows as well as countless books and retelling of the book itself. Talk about over kill. Is Hollywood so out of stories that one has to be made over and over again so many times? Its not just Hollywood, some of the movies are from places like Mexico and Hong Kong.
This version apparently leaves a lot out from the book and also gives it a moral make over so not to upset the surprisingly even more moralistic audience as compared to the 1840s when the original book was published.
Personally I didn't mind JANE EYRE but I didn't see any other version nor have I ever read the book. Actually I was under the impression the book was written by Jane Austen but gladly found out it was not. I do think the movie would have been better if the ended it about 5 or 10 minutes earlier.
