Jan 29th THE RITE

Some of the scariest films are of the fight between the devil and the disciples of Jesus Christ. THE RITE tries to capture this and starts out doing well but then falls short overall. It just makes the demons seem so weak in the face of the priests and anyone connected to them. If you believe in the forces of evil and the fight exorcists are fighting then you will also believe in the hierarchy among Demonology, which is where the problem for the movie comes in. Would be a good rental for a moonless, windy night though to scare the weaker among us. Anthony Hopkins does a great job though.
