On Friday when I went to the same theatre to see THE TOURIST and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER, I saw a trivia question for the movie SELL OUT. The question asked which country the movie is from and the answer is Malaysia. I love Asian movies a lot and have not seen one from Malaysia in quite some time so I decided to see this one. I invited a friend to go with me but told him I knew nothing about the film except where it was from and the tittle and explained to him that most Asian Drama movies have a lot of comedy in them as well. He came up with the genre name of "DRAMEDY", I liked it.
The movie turns out to be a comedy/drama/musical and was quite entertaining. Plays like it was a huge hit in a film festival, very artsy and low budget but done in a very good way.
Am all for just picking a movie and going to see it without any preconceived impressions. Besides previews give everything away anyways nowadays.
