Another remake, this time of a 2008 Swedish film called LET THE RIGHT ONE IN that was shown at the 2008 TORONTO AFTER DARK FILM FESTIVAL and in mainstream theatres in 2009.
The differences between the American and the Swedish original can be seen right in the name. Where as the Swedish movie is about choices and degrees, the American version has the story turned into a monster movie.
The subtly and the grey areas between right and wrong which made the original film more unnerving is missing in this version.
In this age and time with the technology available, there is no excuse for shoddy and amateurish special effects.
