A 1969 movie based on the 1964 play by Peter Shaffer, who wrote EQUUS and AMEDEUS, but no where near as good as either. Shaffer also co-wrote the movie.
The sets are simple but correct looking, with some far shots having a touch of epic grandeur.
Unfortunately there is too much talk and not enough action for the movie to life up to the way it looks.
Christopher Plummer is an amazing actor but the accent he uses makes him sound like a dim witted child.
A good story, but maybe a modern action packed version would be better.
OH MY GOD! Did I just wish for a remake?
