MYSTERIOUS SKIN director Greg Araki brings his tenth feature to TIFF and gives us the story of a young college man trying to find where in life and the world he fits in.
In my opinion this movie is dumb, boring and completely pointless. If the stiff acting is not bad enough then am sure the fact that they are look in their mid 30s when they are supposed to be in late teens will be. To make it even worse almost all the actors are wearing contact lenses to give them a fake eye colour, meant to enhance and mesmerise, but I found it distracting and insulting. Whats wrong with their natural colour?
Picking actors for their looks regardless of talent doesn't seem to work anymore then picking a movie cause you liked the director's other film.
Have to say the best part of this movie was the fact that since I now live downtown I could still easily get to the theatre after waking up late.
