These are short reviews of the movies I watch. Each posting will have the movie title and the date watched as well as which theatre I saw it at or whether it was watched on DVD. I will only be telling you if I enjoyed the movie or not and a bit about the look and feel of the movie, not about what happens. For that you will have to watch the movie.

OCT 2nd DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (Scotiabank Theatre #7)
DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME played at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2010, unfortunately because of work I was not able to see it then. It is great that it has gotten limited release and I got the chance to see it on the big screen. It is a good movie by director Tsui hark, where the first female Emperor is about to be crowned in China, but people are mysterious being murdered in an even more mysterious way. The mystery is interesting but its the scenery and the costumes that I think steal the show. Overall a very enjoyable movie.
