These are short reviews of the movies I watch. Each posting will have the movie title and the date watched as well as which theatre I saw it at or whether it was watched on DVD. I will only be telling you if I enjoyed the movie or not and a bit about the look and feel of the movie, not about what happens. For that you will have to watch the movie.

Aug 5th RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (SCOTIABANK THEATRE AVX)
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is a nice modern take on how the apes took over the planet earth but it is only the beginning. Unfortunately, for the story its the most exciting part. For the movie however, it could have been a lot more exciting. It is a very enjoyable movie and the apes do not look fake at all. There are a couple of places where it is a little unbelievable though. The strength and sizes of the Chimpanzees are a little exaggerated and there is a little poetic licence taken at the beginning. Would have loved to seen more about Caesars struggle with his discovery of not being Human and feelings of being different from the other apes.
