July 13th BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS (DVD)

Another Roger Corman produced classic was BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS, with James Cameron doing the special effects. This movie is from 1980 but looks kinda older, even though the special effects are pretty good. The story is a re-adaptation of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN which of course was a famous re-adaptation of SEVEN SAMURAI. It is a good story and one that is fun but there is not enough action or character development here, however we do have to remember it is a B movie. The movie has now big names like John Boy ( Ricahrd Thomas ) and George Peppard ( Haniabil from the THE A-TEAM (Television Series) and others.
