June 5th THE CONSPIRATOR

More about the early American Justice System then about the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. The great acting makes up for very little really happening. Actually a lot happens it just moves at a slow pace. An interesting side note is that one of the defendants last name is Mudd. This is where the saying "Your name is Mud" comes from, and his disappearance in history. People only remember John Wilkes Booth as being involved. Mud was synonymous with things that are bad or worthless. Since Dr. Mudd became unknown even after being convicted of plotting to kill the American President and could not get work as a Doctor after getting out of prison, people started using the saying "your name is mudd".
