These are short reviews of the movies I watch. Each posting will have the movie title and the date watched as well as which theatre I saw it at or whether it was watched on DVD. I will only be telling you if I enjoyed the movie or not and a bit about the look and feel of the movie, not about what happens. For that you will have to watch the movie.

June 17th TRUE LEGENDS (SU QI-ER)
A modern made martial arts movie that brings us back to the feelings of the old Shaw Brothers kung fu movies. Just imagine the cool fight scenes back then done with today's technology and one of the greatest fight choreographers ever. A good martial arts movie is the opposite of a good magician. We want to see how it is done, we do not want to watch the camera move too fast that its blurry or be too close up, so you can't really see the fighting well. The problem with TRUE LEGENDS (SU QI-ER) is trying to put two movies, very different from each other, together as one. Not even original stories. Add to that important seeming characters who just come in out of nowhere and leave into nowhere just as fast. Was an enjoyable movie, but that is just it, enjoyable. As an audience member I want to do more then just enjoying the movie, for this kinda of money I want to be blown away. I want the hair on the back of my neck to tingle in excitement.
