Truly amazing. I was about 14 when I first saw this movie and even then it was an incredible, futuristic experience. The truly amazing thing is that the movie was released January 1968 and was 14 years old when I watched it.
Even today 42 years later 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY is still futuristic and well ahead of its time.
This movie when it first came out not only inspired a solar system full of young men and women to become scientists but also inspired entire space agencies. The movie has a more artistic flare then most sci-fi movies and moves at a much slower pace then most people like, in a two hour and twenty minute movie.
This is one of the best and most influential movies ever made and still after all these years stands up to all critics like a gigantic shiny black monolith.
